“Homeland Security has New Technology”
Wednesday, May 28th, 2003An excellent post from not another blog:
“Homeland Security has announced they will soon be implementing new software which will record every click of your mouse. It is their belief that it will operate completely transparently and that the average user will not notice any difference in performance. Click here to observe this incredible new technology.
Go read this now
Wednesday, May 28th, 2003It’s one of the most moving pieces of writing I’ve ever read. And when the author (Bobby Burgess?) is on the bestseller lists you can smugly say “oh I’ve been reading him since waaay back”. Really. Go read it now. Not just this post, read all the way through and tell me it’s not a book contract waiting to happen.
Many thanks to broad at bat for the link.
It’s official : I’m boring
Tuesday, May 27th, 2003What does Manly do on his first day back? Send an insult my way. No matter which drink (latte, tea, water) I submit, this highly scientific test tells me that I’m lame and boring. Ha! Didn’t need no test to tell me that folks.
Site update
Tuesday, May 27th, 2003Now that we’ve finally moved the mother-in-law to her new nursing home, I’m hoping to have a little more time at weekends to learn CSS and PhotoShop. Famous last words.
I’ve just downloaded TopStyle to get me started (found via what do I know), which came via lazy laces (who really needs a comment system so that we can insult congratulate him on all those brilliant links he finds).
Happiness is…
Monday, May 26th, 2003Finishing the shopping at Sainsbury’s, treating ourselves to a couple of lattes at Starbucks and sitting on the river bank on a warm Sunday morning. Bliss.
“Goodnight Jim-Bob, goodnight Mary-Ellen…”
Saturday, May 24th, 2003 So Marine Boy and Betty have gone home and the house is all quiet and empty. Well apart from us and the dogs. But you know what I mean.
And there are compensations.
Their parents brought a stack of cheap Marlboros from the airport (I can chainsmoke for half the price now) and best of all I can go back to changing into pyjamas at 6pm and not worry about wearing a bra.
I am so shallow.
p.s. Here’s my vote for best “blog break” note to date.
p.p.s. UPDATE: That link no longer works, Nicole is back up and blogging so here’s the archive link. Blush. Sorry. But it’s still a great post.
