Novel writing competition
Woo-hoo! Tony is going to join in the NaNoWriMo (Inter)National Novel Writing Month project. Richard is thinking about it too. I’ve been trying to leave comments at Manly’s suggesting that he too join in but comments are bloggered so M, if you read this, we all think you should go sign up immediately ok?
Anyone else going to join in? As PC (Principal Cheerleader) I think I’ll need to start a new blogroll typelist for all the contributors I’ll be reading - could you send me any good ones you find? Cheers.
And if you’re short on inspiration, how about scrolling through items on found magazine?
Found in Charlotte, NC suggests a novel immediately, no?
my wife and i drove by a soft cushioned chair that had been set out and thought “hey, someone threw away a perfectly good chair that might look great upstairs!” we loaded the chair into my truck and drove it home.
it smelled slightly of cat pee so we decided to rip out the cloth bottom and check for any bugs or other nasties. from the bottom fell this envelope with a poetic turn written across: “if loving you is a crime, then i’d be happy doing time.” we’re not sure if this is a quote from an unnamed source or if it’s original inspiration, but i’m sure something happened that moved the author to pen it down.
we wonder if there was ever anything inside the envelope- money or another letter- or if the it was just the first available scrap. in any case, we hope the sentiment was felt by the intended.
Lots more inspiration at found magazine.
UPDATE: Pewari is also taking part.
UPDATE #2: scorpio girl takes up the gauntlet!

And you’ll, of course, be taking part too, Daisy ;o)

Reasons for not joining in:
1. I work long hours, what little time is left get spent on blogging
2. I’d rather read yours than write mine
3. I can’t write. Many moons ago I was this close to selling a script to the BBC. I chickened out. Lost it. Completely. Haven’t written anything since.
So I shall enjoy the (self-appointed) role of Principal Cheerleader.

Actually, the thought of someone actually reading the crud I’m going to churn out is really very scary!!!
