Latest Scam
Yesterday, one of our neighbors was robbed at a traffic light. A young woman proposes to wash your car windows while you wait at the red light while another one takes advantage of the distraction to open the back door and steal everything she can grab. Be warned, they are very well organized.
Don’t leave your doors or windows open if you drive up to a red light and if your windows get washed… don’t look at them, they try to divert your attention. Please inform your friends of this new scam - they have got my neighbour 10 times already

I’m not 100% sure that Graeme isn’t winding me up on this but I checked the Terms of Service (http://www.typepad.com/site/tos.html) and:
You agree that you will not:
(a) upload, post, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable
Seriously, do you think the picture comes under any of the above categories?

It is not unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful racist or ethnically objectionable. I don’t think anyone could honestly describe it as vulgar or obscene but I suppose particularly prurient people might argue.
What might get you, however, is the catch-all “otherwise objectionable”. This clause potentially covers absolutely anything you might post. Some people might find this comment, for example, objectionably long.
I’m puzzled as to why they ban tortuous content though. Are you under an injuction to be clear, simple and concise in what you write?

Do you have her number - the wife has been on at me for ages to arrange getting our windows cleaned. She looks very professional and has nice sponges.

thats a lovely sheen she brings to the window with the booby buffing action.
Obviously a top from the top there. I shall wash my house windows in that fashion now!

Mind? I’m chuffed to bits. Afraid I had to reciprocate, sorry ’bout that. Loved the short story, will be back to read it again tonight when I haven’t got a deadline. Well, I’ll still have deadlines but I can ignore them.

Hmmm. Could’ve done with a warning there, what with me being on a public computer in a university library… Which, considering it’s gone 9pm on a Wednesday evening is surprisingly busy.
October 29th, 2003 22:32
I’ve added a warning in case anyone views it at work but to be honest, at 9pm on a Wednesday evening in a university library I assume that anyone who’s looking over your shoulder is over 18 and won’t be terribly traumatised by seeing a pair of boobs and a nice bum. The picture is no worse than can be seen daily on page 3 of any of the tabloids left open in many households across the country.
I’m not going to start a rant about censorship of nudity when there are toys, games and particularly software on the market containing violent scenes that are far more obscene than this picture.
