Quote of the day
Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.

Can’t fault old Sam on this one - almost 12 years since I let slip the comforts of home and haven’t regretted it yet, touch wood it remains so

12 years? And have you lived in Germany all that time or elsewhere?
August 2nd, 2004 17:17
Denmark (Copenhagen) nearly 3 years, US (Kansas City) just over a year and the remainder in Germany.
On the one hand I can wholeheartedly advocate living abroad, but I travel quite regularly and have to confess that it has lost much of its initial allure. You never seem to have sufficient time to really enjoy the destination, but it does make coming home all the sweeter.
I hope your brother enjoys the change.
