Even though you’re tabbing, it’s still considered one browser session (same cookies for all tabs, etc.), so you won’t be able to log in as two different accounts. That’s why two windows works… it’s technically two browser sessions.

Thunderbird is quite simply the only mail client. A few short weeks of following th company line with outlook was quicky violated.

Forgive me for being a blit slow but I don’t quite understand – do you use a Mac Daisy? If so, isn’t Safari and Mail quite enough?

No, I’m a pc user (client necessity) but one day I’m going to get me a second/third/fourth hand mac for playtime.

Ah ha. Now all is clear. Apple’s Safari has had tabbed browsing for a while and, whilst I’m not a Mac anorak (I am a bit but I’ve seen a lot worse!), Firefox seems very clunky and ungainly in comparison – though PC users seem to disgree on the whole. I think it’s because OSX is more svelte overall than XP…

…oh god I’m turning into a Mac nerd – stop me before it’s too late!
