The dog ate my blog posts
Well how else can I explain the sudden silence? ‘Twas surely not huge amounts of work to meet pre holiday deadlines? Maybe it was cleaning like a dervish before the family arrives tomorrow? Maybe I’ve been infected by the loss of mojo ailing so many of you right now. So I’ll just squidge in a few items to tickle the taste buds and fingers crossed, back with a bumper selection [and the competition!] in a short while.
So how’s the gift shopping going? Perfectly well, thank you. Just need two colouring books and a set of pencils and I’m done. And giggling. I’m taking a break to– well hang on, let’s start the story at the beginning.
When asked, stepson #1 replied that he’d like one of these t-shirts for Christmas but because we’re not sure which ones he already has (but really because the purchase of one would require a trip to Big Bad & Nasty Crowded Shopping Centre), we’re going to give him a chunkamoney so that he can choose his own.
But an envelope of money looks a little boring under the tree, no? Cheap market stall to the rescue. One pale green cotton t-shirt is currently sitting on the ironing board while I make a fake logo. Here’s draft #1, but I think it needs a different font and a background image (a blob is the technical term I believe?).
What I think will happen on opening is that for a split second he’ll wonder if we’ve made a big booboo and have genuinely think it’s a real t-shirt and debate whether to be falsely delighted with it or spill the beans, followed by huge guffaws as he gets the joke. And the joke is on all of us really - he for being a bit of a label junkie, us for being uncool. Is this one of those tales where “you had to be there”? Thought so. Talk amongst yourselves for a while.
A few quick links and it’s back to making a few dozen hundred spiders homeless.
A blog all about PhotoShop
A collection of cool 404s:
- plinko
- homestar runner
- you might already have seen this one
- nixopax
- JoeK.com gets poetic
- while chairboy would melt the hardest of hearts
- and snash gets all Shakespearean.
Now where’s that nozzle…

Thank you kiddiwinks :-0))
I’ve abandoned the ironing with the feeble excuse that there’s not enough light *cough* so I’m sneaking a few blog trips in before the hordes descend tomorrow.

There’s *never* enough light for ironing at my house.

Thank God you are back on the blog. I was getting Daisy withdrawal and it wasn’t a pretty site. Great links. Have a great holiday.

Yes, you were missed! But thank you for the 404s (I’ve just realised how CRAP mine is on my “other” site - Must Do Something About That), and the photoshop help site link is going to prove pretty valuable, I think.
The Billy Boing thing is briliant - what an excellent piss-take/leg-pull! Irony all round, I love it.
Anyway, best wishes for Christmas, have a fantastic time,
Love from Croila and, er, Humphrey ;-)

Reminds me of the year my ‘new that year’ in-laws bought me a set of dumbbells. Only the wrapped up an old set they’d found in the loft, rusty and knackered looking.
Gave me the present saying that they’d all been sold out but they’d tried and finally managed to get a set after many hours of shopping.
Seemingly my face was a picture as I stuttered my thanks (I was brought up to be very polite). Cheeky buggers.

I think I saw a Billy Boing T-shirt before, but I’m not sure where, maybe Boing-Boing.
What does Billabong suppose to mean anyway? I’m confused!
Have a Merry Christmas, Daisy, and a Happy New Year!

My first suspect is always Dizzy.
Is she looking a bit fatter than usual?
Have a nice relaxing time off, dear.

Ho x 3
After three days in the woods (a lovely break from the city) and having gone stir crazy in stores that end in “mart” I needed some sort of distraction. Though on dialup, I managed to keep up with my blog reading and even deposited some commentary here…

[…] Alrightee, let’s have a look in the top drawer of the “elephant chest” (so called because stepson #1, he of the BillyBong t-shirt wheeze, painted gold elephants on a £5 junk shop chest of drawers we’d renovated. Contents: […]
