I’m just listening to Paul Jackson’s tribute to Dave Allen: The Sit Down Stand Up, revised from the programme broadcast in January this year.

ah yes. i used to love the man’s television shows when i was a boy.
he had charisma.
i always remember his line about the boy that came up to him and said:
“Mr. Mr. You’re the fella with a half finger aren’t ye?”
“No son. I’m the fella with nine and a half fingers!”
