Is it too soon for a Katrina joke?

Q. “What does President Bush think about Roe vs. Wade?
A. He doesn’t care how people get out of New Orleans.”

The very best of the internet: An Ask MetaFilter thread starts off as a search for a Vienna phonebook from circa 1938 but goes on to a sweet ending that’ll have you choking back the tears.

And a quote for the day:

“The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose”

— Hada Bejar

I’m glad you moved I can see you, funnily enough I can see the old one now too.
I love the quotation. It reminds me of “If you lose your rings you’ll still have yourfingers”

…so it would be a bad idea to mention that the animals have taken “the house of the rising sun” off their play list because there *isn’t* a house in new orleans :^(…

    …I’ll get me coat…

You’re right, that joke gets around – ah well, great minds thinking alike and all. Thanks for the tip on the comments – we upgraded Linux today, a non-hurricane prep.

    fupps,

I’d heard the Roe vs Wade joke before but never the Katrina and The Waves. Bravo. Yes, you made the coffee come run down my nose :-)
