A lazy (wo)man’s tip for Firefox

If you prefer links to open in new tabs rather than a new window, you can go to Firefox settings (Tools => Options => Tabs):

Screenshot of the Firefox Tools dialog box showing the options checked.

It’s useful when you’re using a web based email (e.g. gmail) and are too lazy to use right click to open a new tab rather than the default new window. Great for pen/tablet users too.

And now for some links

Shave that dude!

Endless fun to be had with the Indian Shankar Drum Ganesh Machine.

Rember that sand artist, Ferenc Cakó, that we all loved? Well Graeme recently came across the work of another sand artist, Ilana Yahav.

I’m off to make supper.

If your mouse has a clickable scrollwheel/middle button, I think you can use that to open links in new [background] tabs, giving you even greater flexibility.

I’ve a Logitech 2 button mouse with a scrollable middle wheel but it doesn’t seem to want to let me open anything with it (yet). Will keep trying. Plus, I use the pen/tablet about 80% of the time so it’s nice to have the easy way out :-)

For added zing, you can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <s> <strike> <strong>

But you can also just type in the box and hit the Submit button. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
