Thunderbird email

I know I really should start deleting old emails. But do you know what would be really nice? To be able to select individual folders (or sub folders) containing archive emails, zip it up and store it on the hard drive and be able to restore it with a quick command such as “Restore xyz folder”.

I don’t suppose anything like that exists for Thunderbird does it?

What do you honestly think of Thunderbird? I didn’t find its much lauded spam filter was any good at all. After using it for about a year, I gave in eventually and started using MS Outlook 2003, which I absolutely love now. I’m all for open source, but the spam filter just didn’t work for me :-(

I use Thunderbird and I find the spam filter is pretty effective. Though I would like a bit more control over what happens to spam emails. I also like the way it detects phishing scam emails and displays a warning for the unwary.

I use Thunderbird mainly because it’s “lighter” than Outlook. I use Outlook 2003 at work and now CANNOT live without LABELS…

Daisy. Delete the emails you don’t need. Not archive, DELETE. FOREVER. Honest… try it… if it’s THAT crucial you can find the info again.

Oooh, is that you being masterful Gordon? ;-) I will try, *gulp*.

Croila, I do love Thunderbird. I don’t mind Outlook (2003 or Express) but as Richard said, it does such a good job of spam assassination that I’d find it hard to switch back to an M$ product.
