PHP for beginners

If you’re wanting to have a go at php, there are four excellent tutorials by Stefan Mischook at Killer PHP – PHP videos for web designers. He has a wonderful voice, the basics are clearly explained, perfect for anyone wanting to make a start on learning php.

Topics so far:

  • What is a programming language
  • Server-side vs. client-side programming
  • Installing PHP on your computer
  • Write your first PHP script

It looks as if more tutorials are on the way plus there’s a blog and a forum. Excellent stuff.

I found your site while adding my own to a clever blog directory. (It’s actually a pretty cool little directory), but that’s not my point. This site spits back other sites that match similar profiles to one’s own, so in going through a bunch of these, I came across yours, which I have to tell you is one of the nicer blogs I’ve read in a while. Nice layout, understated and clean. Good topical information mixed with just enough personal touch. Fun. In a word, well done. (what the hell is quack.com going to be, though?)

I’m always looking for good blogs to read on my lunch hour, and now I have a new one…so don’t let me down :)

The directory that pointed me to your site was Blogcode.com (although, now it occurs to me that you probably already know that, that your site is in their directory – oh well.)

    Take care
