A lap full of diamonds - what an image! Thanks for the story. Does it make you glad to be alive? (Does everything?)

And okay, I wasn't going to ask, but after your "coming out" line, I won't hold back: did you really lose 91 pounds in a year? And how on earth did you do it?

#3? Oh no, it was a car accident in Belgium. I was with a Russian colleague who, like the rest of the population, drove at maniac speeds. Luckily she accelerated just in time and managed by a hair's breadth to avoid the car that was about to hit us side on (the passenger side where I was sitting, eek!). But our car went into a roll. You know those slow motion replays on television? Yep, it was just like that. The next thing I remember is sitting in a heap on the side of the road wondering why I had a lapful of sparkling diamonds. It took forever to get rid of broken windows fragments from my hair and clothes.

But miraculously we were all fine apart from cuts and bruises. And that damn glass.

Stupidly though, I stopped taking driving lessons that day and never started up again.

I like you, Daisy. :-) I immediately bookmarked Spine Tingler. Would love to hear about #3, unless it's too painful a memory.
