100 Things
The 100 Things meme started out as a webring but seems to have taken on a life of its own. We bloggers do like to wibble on about ourselves don't we? I haven't managed to reach 100 yet but one of these days I will. Honest.
100 50 or so Random Things About Me
- Born on 14 February 1960-something.
- Surprised at how much I mind hitting 40.
- Living with the man I love.
- No children.
- 2 stepsons (Tom and Robbie).
- Tom is marrried to Lucy and they have 2 children - Sophie is 5, Molly is almost 3.
- Robbie is married to Liz, they live in West London and have a new baby.
- My real name is not Daisy.
- I rarely use my real name on the internet.
- I work in IT, specifically in localisation.
- I used to read huge numbers of books.
- Now I read huge numbers of blogs.
- I'm sure it's a passing fad.
- But I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
- I come from a close knit Welsh family
- I adore my younger brother's children.
- I refer to them as Bailey (aged 18), Marine Boy/MB (aged 15) and Betty (aged 12).
- I wish they lived closer to us in London.
- Update: They live even further away now. Dammit.
- But maybe spoiling them rotten on infrequent visits is better.
- I'm left handed. Very.
- I lived in Belgium for five years.
- I still have Belgian friends but not much love for the country of Belgium.
- I miss my best friend Nina since she went to live in Dubai.
- But I'm glad that she's so happy there.
- We have a lovely dog called Dizzy. She's a patterdale, staffie, whippet, labrador mix. No wonder she's dizzy.
- If this is as boring for you as it is for me, then I imagine you're either asleep by now or have clicked away.
- My parents have been happily married for well over 40 years.
- Youngest brother has been happily married for 17 years.
- I would rather remove my left eye with a red hot poker than get marrried.
- I don't know why this is.
- But I am in love with and all but married to the man I live with.
- We met nearly 15 years ago and have been together ever since.
- He's 13 years older than me.
- And calls me his dolly bird.
- Despite the wrinkles and grey hair.
- I very rarely discuss politics or personal feelings in this blog.
- That doesn't mean I don't feel strongly about some things.
- Like intolerance.
- Or not having children.
- Or getting old.
- But there is a place in real life for discussing these things.
- Do I have write this?
- I'm squirming a little.
- So I'll stop now and add more later.
- If I can dredge up some interesting facts from somewhere.
- I make a lot of lists.
- PDAs have made list making a lot easier.
- But nothing beats a good old fashioned notebook and pen.
- And I haven't seen my iPAQ for months. Must dig it out and see if my father would like it.
- But this list is so difficult to write.
- I love popping bubble wrap.
- Although I love buying shoes I much prefer being barefoot and never wear shoes at home. Which means that the soles of my feet are black no matter how often I bathe.
- Every once in a while I'll have a few games of Solitaire before going to bed. I can't go to bed unless I complete a hand (best score to date? 48 seconds). But no matter what I do, I can't stop my right leg tapping, just like J.C. Wiatt.
- I love general knowledge quizzes and one of these days we're going to get organised and find a good pub quiz night to attend regularly.
- What am I like in real life? Here's one description.
- I started blogging in March 2003, genuinely believing that I'd get bored within weeks.
- I switched to TypePad later that year but finally starting using this domain and WordPress in October 2005.
