A duck’s tale

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2004

Photograph of a mother duck and her six chicks approaching the pavement (or sidewalk).

The mother duck steps onto the pavement and onto a ventilation grill.

The mother duck has crossed the grill but she looks back to find that only one of the chicks has successfully made it across and she peers anxiously down the open grill.

I have it on very good authority that the photographer put down her camera, lifted the grille and rescued the babies.

If anyone tells you any different, they’re big fat liars.

If you haven’t visited Ana before, take some time to view her wonderful photo albums, such as this one, “Polar Bear and landscape pictures taken around Churchill, Manitoba”.

It’s fifty years in the future, and statues are now erected to memorialize celebrities as well as soldiers and politicians. In this contest you will memorialize any celebrity in a stone likeness (i.e. Danny DeVito, Queen Elizabeth, Will Smith, etc…).

There’s even a tutorial to help you along.

Sh1ft‘s new project is underway, Q&A : the photographic interview. I really like this one and hope to try and take some pictures for it.

Where in the world… round one is over

Friday, February 20th, 2004

So using my best Katie Boyle voice I’m announcing Trois Points to David and Un Point to e at purple pen.

Round two will be next week as soon as I find the photo albums and get a chance to scan some more pictures in.

Or… the next round could be hosted by one of you guys? Go on, y’all must have plenty of great pictures!

While searching for similar sculptures I came across this and this in Boston. Oh and the wonderful Albert Einstein memorial in Washington.
